Summary:

The Operations Stores Manager reports to the Director of Operations. This role is responsible for organizing, managing, maintaining and tracking various equipment, as well as the tracking and scheduling of maintenance for a fleet of approximately 45 vehicles and trailers. The Ops Stores Manager also trains, manages, schedules and coordinates approximately 10-15 employees that assist in his daily operations in Prince George and at a variety of other bases and remote camps.

Job Duties:
Operational Stores Manager Responsibilities

• As Operational Stores Manager, you will be expected to uphold the professional image of the company by conducting yourself in a professional manner.
• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of workers who repair and maintain operational equipment.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other departments, including Operations.
• Requisition materials and supplies.
• Resolve work problems and recommend work measures to improve productivity.
• Train or arrange for training of workers.
• Work with the Director of Operations by recommending personnel actions such as hiring and promotions.
• Ensure that standards for safe working conditions are observed.
• Prepare production, location and other reports.
• May also supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of related helpers and labourers.
• Communicate with the Director of Maintenance with respect to maintenance-related problems and snags, looming inspections, etc.
• Review and communicate operational equipment associated paperwork including Vehicle Logs and inspection reports.
• May be called upon occasionally to assist deployed Engineers or Pilots on specific operational equipment activities.
• Communicate with the Director of Maintenance, request parts and supplies, consult on the resolution of specific problems, etc.
• Carry out other duties assigned by the Director of Maintenance or Director of Operations, including other work on the base during assigned shifts.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Aviation, particularly the helicopter industry an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high demand environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Time management and multi-tasking.
• Computer knowledge (Excel, Access, Microsoft Word, Outlook).
• Ability to learn new procedure and develop standard work procedures and practices
• Patience, organization, and understanding of frequent changes.

Working Conditions:

• Standard office hours: Monday to Friday 0800-1630.
• Required to work at our Main Base in Prince George, BC.
• Office work: long period of sitting and being on the phone.
• Frequently using computer and telephone.
• Availability after hours on an ‘as-needed’ basis.
• As per government mandate, applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
