OH&S Coordinator / Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator

Location:

Prince George base

Reports To:

Director of Safety – Hope McNaughton

Summary:

A demonstrated ability to manage and facilitate Occupational Health, Safety Programs in an aviation environment, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies. A clear understanding of a Safety Management System (SMS) and all associated regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and administer Occupational Health and Safety program including chairing of the JHSC, conducting inspections, etc.;
  • Be available for employees and management for safety information and support,
  • Manage employee reporting database including timely risk assessments,
  • Working in DATS(Digital Action Tracking System), updating files and documents,
  • Provide expertise and support in analyzing all workplace occurrences and accidents,
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Safety.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety leadership role
  • Knowledge and training in risk assessments
  • Working knowledge of and experience with federal, provincial and local workplace health & safety legislation, rules, regulations and reporting processes and procedures.
  • Aviation experience an asset
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Strong emphasis on computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office and databases.
  • Continuous learner and a willingness to embrace change.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels both internally and externally.
  • A proven ability to multitask, maintain timelines, be highly organized and re-prioritize tasks when necessary.
  • Be able to work independently, as well as being a strong team player.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard work week (Monday-Friday)
  • Ability to travel when required
