As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we take pride in our legacy of excellence and commitment to the industries we serve.
From helicopter bases strategically located throughout BC and Alberta, we have supported the forestry, mining, petroleum, utility and tourism industries for over 45 years. Through well-planned growth, we have continued to renew and update our services and equipment in order to keep pace with the ever-changing demands of the industries we support.
Our management team, along with our experienced air crews, will work with you to ensure that you are provided with the aircraft and equipment best suited to your specific needs.
By choosing Yellowhead Helicopters you get the distinct advantage of partnering with a company that is small enough to provide you with personalized service; yet large enough to have the infrastructure and support network to ensure that your job gets completed on time and on budget.
With five decades of experience, we have built a strong reputation for supporting public, industry, and government operations. Operating from strategically located bases in British Columbia—from the northern coast to the northeast region—down the Robson Valley and into central Alberta, we provide specialized helicopter services to a wide range of sectors, including forestry, mining, petroleum, utilities, construction, Search and Rescue and tourism.
Through continuous investment in equipment, training, and operational excellence, we ensure that our services remain at the forefront of the industry. Whether it’s remote logistics, external load operations, or specialized aerial support, our dedicated management team works closely with clients to provide the right aircraft and equipment for the job.
With enviably one of the best safety records in Canadian helicopter aviation, we continue to provide safe and efficient services to customers throughout Canada.
All of the aircraft we operate are maintained to the highest standard by our in-house Transport Canada and Bell OEM-approved Maintenance and Overhaul department.
We have received accolades from many individuals and organizations as a result of our commitment to operational safety, including awards from the Helicopter Association International and the Helicopter Association of Canada.
In order to provide our clientele with the quality of service they expect we have developed a crew training program that begins with an online familiarization and examination process and culminates with emergency and job-specific exercises being accomplished in the aircraft.
Our education process has evolved to a point where our crews are trained not only in basic flight operations but also provided with the opportunity to hone their skills in job-specific areas such as long lining, drip torching, cone harvesting, aerial seeding, airborne geophysics, sock line towing, power line and pipeline patrols, drill moving, fire suppression and heli-skiing.
We recognize the importance of cultivating long-term partnerships with First Nations, based on mutual respect, trust, cooperation and forging strong relationships that remain long after the project has finished.
We don't just prioritze safety - we manage it through a mature, proactive Safety Management System.
We invest in continuous, specialized training to ensure our crews and support staff exceed regulatory standards, manage operational risk, and execute every mission with precision.
