Get away from downtown with a helicopter trip to one of Mount Remo Backcountry Society's remote alpine mountain cabins.
The Yellowhead Helicopters base on the west side of Terrace is just minutes away from the Anderson Cabin and Larsen Cabin.
Anderson Cabin is located on Mount Remo, just to the west of the hangar and downtown Terrace, BC. Larsen Ridge Cabin is located between Terrace and Kitimat, southwest of Lakelse Lake and the Northwest Regional Airport.

Once you’ve booked your cabin, plan your flight drop-off and/or pick-up by calling our base at 250-638-1414 to check for availability**.
Please note: We do not offer splitting the cost between a group being dropped off and another being picked up at the same time. So no, flight costs cannot be shared between different cabin booking groups.
(Why do we not offer a discount/split between incoming/outgoing groups booked at the same time? Well, these flights are similar to a taxi service, although not an Uber or Lyft. A taxi driving a fare from the airport to the hotel does not split the cost or offer a discount if they pick up another group at the hotel that are heading to the airport.)
Payment is due at flight time and can be made by credit card. In an effort to keep flight costs down, we cannot split the credit card payment among passengers in a group.
** Be advised. There is always the possibility that a flight might be bumped at the last moment for weather conditions or emergency services flights such as avalanche control or search & rescue. We will try to accommodate your trip, but due to flight timing and weather conditions, it’s not always possible.

FAQ: TO BE CLEAR ON THE COST OF TRIPS
If you have a group / load being dropped off at Larsen, that is $1,200 per load. When we come back to pick up that group later in the week, it is another $1,200 per group / load.
IT IS NOT $1,200 to drop the group off and come get you again later to bring you home.
Same for the Anderson trips, a slightly shorter distance, one group / load flown up to the cabin is $900. To bring that group / load back down later in the week is another $900.
For the 2025/2026 Winter season, we have on base an AStar 350 helicopter with an external basket. (We do not have a Bell 206 available)
A group / load is a maximum of 5 guests plus gear (1,500 lbs limit)

These cabins are located within BC Government Ministry of Forest Land Management Plans which restrict motorized vehicles, including helicopters, in these areas. The zone designation allows helicopter drop-off and pick-up only at the cabins. Heli-hiking and heli-skiing are not allowed elsewhere within the zones of Larson Ridge and Mount Remo.
